This project combines custom hardware and software to accurately assess scleral lens fitment using a 3D-printed case designed for an HTC One phone. The case features a built-in ring light around the camera lens, which casts a controlled reflection onto the patient’s eye. This reflection ensures that the photo is taken orthogonally to the eye’s surface, improving imaging accuracy and reducing distortion.

Once captured, the image is analyzed to assess scleral lens fitment by detecting a series of reference markers placed on the lens. This method allows for precise measurement of lens centration, rotation, and clearance, providing valuable insights for optimizing fit and comfort. By integrating controlled imaging with computational analysis, this system enhances the precision of scleral lens fitting, offering a reliable, reproducible approach to improving patient outcomes.
